Wanna Get Buzzed?

Since I shaved my head several weeks ago, I have heard from a lot of folks saying that they'd be interested in shaving their head to show their support.  Well, here you go.  I have teamed up with the Everett Aquasox for a great way to show your support for me, and help me raise a few bucks for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  I want you to come to the ballpark and get buzzed.

This Sunday, August 30th, I will be participating in the Aquasox "Pink at the Park Day" at Memorial Stadium in Everett.  First pitch is at 1 o'clock, but I will be out there starting at 11:30, giving buzzcuts to everybody who wants one for a minimum donation of $10. Mariner Legend Jay Buhner will be out there, teaching me how to properly rock the bulb, and he might just sign a few autographs if you ask nicely.

The good folks at Elle Marie Hair Studio in Bothell have generously donated their time to deliver the buzzzcuts.  They'll also be applying pink hair extensions if you'd rather add some hair, rather than lose it.

All of the proceeds from the buzzcuts will go toward Team Wixey, as we raise money for the upcoming "Light the Night Walk", a large-scale fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which is happening at Green Lake on September 26th.  I'll be joined by dozens of my friends, who have rallied to fight blood cancers.

If you can't make it to the "Pink at the Park" event, you can sign up here to join my team for Light the Night.  We're hoping to raise $5000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Aquasox will be wearing commemorative pink uniforms on Sunday to raise awareness for breast cancer.  Those uniforms will be auctioned off during the 7th inning of the game.  All of the proceeds for that auction will benefit the Mary Kay Ash Foundation to fight women's cancers.

I hope to see you out at the ballpark on Sunday!  It's going to be a great day.
